Questions and some answers

So the smallest grant will be $1,000?

Correct.

Who are you and why should I trust you with my personal information?

This scholarship is a memorial to Helen and Robert Damon, (Nana and Poppop), who founded Oregon Telephone Corporation. It is being given by two of their grandchildren, Ellen and Bob Saunders. If you need additional information write to the address above or the e-mail below. We ask for a valid address and phone number so we can notify winners.

By applying for the scholarship you give us permission to prove that we do indeed provide scholarships by posting your name, hometown, college and major on our website should you win.

If I win, how and when will I get the money?

We mail checks directly to the winners so students can use the money to pay for expenses other than tuition. We’d like to see a copy of an acceptance letter so we know we’re funding your education, not your jet-ski habit. If you want to skip this step you can mail us a copy of the acceptance letter in your application packet (or proof of registration). Once we have said reassurance, we’ll make arrangements to get you a check by Aug. 25 (the exact date varies so nobody pilfers your mailbox). Please provide us with an address that will be valid through the end of August.

Can I e-mail you my application, or fax it?

No.

Is this scholarship open for "older" adults returning to school or retraining for new careers?

Yes. This scholarship is available to any Grant County resident regardless of age.

I have other questions. How can I get answers?

Write the address above or e-mail npfund AT espub DOT com. Remove the spaces and then replace the AT with @ and the DOT with . (a period). E-mail is best; but make sure you type "scholarship" in the subject line.
